STIEBEL ELTRON extends heat pump warranty to drive confidence in renewable heating technology
STIEBEL ELTRON UK has today announced it is extending its heat pump warranty in a bid to give consumers and installers greater confidence in the technology.
With statuary warranty for electrical items in the UK being one year, the leading provider of renewable heating technology has increased its guarantees on its own-brand heat pumps to five years.
Headquartered in Bromborough, Wirral, STIEBEL ELTRON UK made the move with a view to galvanising the UK’s heat pump market to drive forward their adoption among consumers and installers alike.
Offering security that their investment will be protected, the extended warranty is designed to help consumers transition away from traditional gas boilers, and instead move towards more sustainable heating technologies.
Meanwhile, the extension means that installers will be able to recommend heat pumps to interested customers knowing that support will be available for years to come post-installation.
Last year marked a record year for heat pump sales across the UK with MCS data showing more than 35,000 registered throughout the year, bringing the country’s total certified installations to over 200,000 since 2008.
With demand for sustainable heating technologies growing among consumers, the extension of STIEBEL ELTRON’s warranty will play a vital role in increasing the adoption of heat pumps across the UK throughout 2024 and beyond.
The five year warranty, which includes parts and labour, can be claimed on all STIEBEL ELTRON domestic heat pumps which have been registered with the company and fitted by a partner installer who has been trained at the company’s Bromborough training facility.
The company has been a driving force behind the adoption of heat pumps across the country, providing the most innovative technologies as well as delivering comprehensive training to installers who will be able to fit them.
In September last year STIEBEL ELTRON UK expanded its training facilities at its headquarters to increase capacity for its training programme as a result of high demand from aspiring installers.
The move followed a £350,000 investment by the company in November 2022 into a new, state-of-the-art training centre and creation of a comprehensive training programme, which has so far developed more than 650 qualified heat pump installers.
Providing in-depth knowledge and expertise during the programme, STIEBEL ELTRON UK also provides installers with a package post-training which ensures that high-quality, technical support is available to them at all times.
As well as supporting the growth of the UK’s heat pump market, the company is committed to growing every aspect of the business throughout 2024, from investing in new renewable energy technologies and products, to further developing its training facilities and workforce.
Mark McManus, STIEBEL ELTRON UK Managing Director, said: “Consumers are increasingly looking to use sustainable heating technologies in their homes, so extending the warranty on our heat pump products made absolute sense.
“The technology is there and the products are readily available, so we want consumers to have absolute confidence that moving from a gas boiler to a STIEBEL ELTRON heat pump can be done without hassle at the point of installation and in the long run.
“Demand for heat pumps is only going to grow in 2024, and STIEBEL ELTRON is committed to not only meeting this demand, but also putting in place the measures which will see the product safeguarded for years to come, while also offering support for both consumers and installers in the years ahead.”
Founded in 1924, STIEBEL ELTRON is a market leading supplier of technology for building services and green technology, with a particular focus on central heating products such as heat pumps.
