Renewable heating specialists mark drive towards sustainable solutions with 100th heat pump installation

From listed buildings to industrial sites and consumer dwellings, STIEBEL ELTRON UK and Pure Renewables have set their sights on further driving the UK’s heat pump market forward after they reached the 100 installations milestone.

The leading manufacturer of heat pumps partnered with Yorkshire-based installer, Pure Renewables, in 2014 and the partnership has since galvanised the adoption of heat pumps across the country.

Starting out with two installations in the partnership’s inaugural year, demand for renewable heating technology has grown, with the century of installations being implemented across a range of building projects including Yorkshire’s listed buildings Grantley Hall (Grade II) and Bolton Castle (Grade I).

Reflecting the organisations’ ambitions to accelerate the adoption of sustainable solutions across the country, the 100 heat pumps deliver sizeable energy outputs, collectively generating more than 4,000,000 kWH annually.

Implemented across listed buildings, industry facilities, and residential homes, the range of installations demonstrates the viability of heat pumps, showcasing how they can be used as an effective heating solution in a variety of situations.

Founded in 2007, Pure Renewables originally specialised in solar thermal energy systems and has since become the longest-established heat pump installer in the Yorkshire region, serving everywhere from the Midlands to the Scottish Borders.

Holding a strong track record in delivering successful heat pump projects for a diverse range of clients, they partnered with STIEBEL ELTRON UK, now celebrating its 100th year, to use their innovative, cutting-edge technology and utilise their sector expertise.

Headquartered in Wirral, Merseyside, STIEBEL ELTRON UK also provides support for installers at the point of purchase, during installation via tools such as its HP Easy app, and after a project has been completed with high-quality technical advice for both installers and their customers.

When combined with Pure Renewable’s extensive in-field experience, the partnership brings a complete solution for anyone looking to implement a heat pump, ensuring they are installed correctly and will perform as efficiently as possible.

Mark McManus, STIEBEL ELTRON UK Managing Director, said: “We set out with Pure Renewables with a view to accelerate the adoption of heat pumps and we’ve done exactly that.

“It’s not just the figures, but the diverse projects that have been successfully delivered through this partnership which shows that with the proper expertise, preparations, and technology, they can be implemented and will perform in any building, no matter its size or age.

“At STIEBEL ELTRON we always look to deliver the most innovative and effective technology, but we also look to work with the best installers to see it reach its potential. When it comes to delivering heat pumps, Pure Renewables are quite simply second to none and we look forward to continuing to drive the market forward in the years to come.”

Chris Whitelock, Pure Renewables Managing Director, said: “Over the years we’ve worked across a range of projects which have required different heat pump technologies, and STIEBEL ELTRON have not only delivered these, but supported us throughout.

“As an installer which services a large area, where heat pump demand is increasing, being able to tap into STIEBEL ELTRON’s expertise has proved invaluable.

“Reaching a century of installations is a fantastic milestone, but the work doesn’t end here. We’re looking forward to continuing our partnership with STIEBEL ELTRON to see high-quality installations delivered across the UK.”
