STIEBEL ELTRON expands team by 25% as it gears up to meet heat pump demand

STIEBEL ELTRON UK has expanded its team by a quarter so far this year as it looks to supercharge Britain’s heat pump market.

The leading supplier of renewable energy products has bolstered its workforce with nine new hires across its operations throughout the UK to bring the company’s headcount to 44 employees.

Earlier this year, STIEBEL ELTRON celebrated 15 years in the UK by committing to further growing the UK’s heat pump market throughout 2023 and beyond.

As part of the commitment, STIEBEL ELTRON set itself the ambition of expanding its workforce in a bid to provide the market with more products and services, with the latest hires a signal of intent from the company to fulfilling this.

Established in 2008 in Bromborough, Wirral, STIEBEL ELTRON UK has since flourished and is now a major supplier of heat pump products and installer training to the industry.

Boosting employment within the Liverpool City region with 5 new starters across its Wirral operation, they are Charlie Benjamin, Marketing Executive, Sam Partridge as Product Manager, Darren Woodward in the Warehouse and two customer facing roles for James Lapping and Laura Colley in Technical and Sales respectively.

Meanwhile, strengthening STIEBEL ELTRON’s presence in the field, Wallace Chunga joins the company’s North East operations as a Service Manager, with Mark Cable covering the Midlands and Ian Coleman looking after customers in the East Midlands and East Anglia region.

The field-based specification team is set to grow as the company welcomes Stewart Ratcliff as the South West’s Regional Specification Manager, with George Hiley joining in July covering the West Midlands and Mid Wales Areas.

The team expansion comes as part of STIEBEL ELTRON UK’s ambitions to grow every area of the business in a bid to deliver the latest products and train the next generation of installers to fit them in the coming years.

Pat of this ambition will see the company continue to recruit for Sales and Technical roles in the Wirral office, with further recruitment in the Warehouse planned before the end of 2023.

In November last year, STIEBEL ELTRON UK invested £350,000 into a new state-of-the-art training facility to help inspire and develop the next generation of installers.

As part of the investment, STIEBEL ELTRON fine-tuned its training course so it would cater for all levels of prospective installers, starting from beginner to more advanced technicians.

Meanwhile, the training course also offers qualified installers all the tools they need to progress their careers, with STIEBEL ELTRON providing them with support during and after the course throughout the installation process, not just at the point of purchase.

Since the start of the year some 170 installers trained to qualification throughout 2023, with this figure set to reach 300 in the coming weeks.

As well as expanding its workforce to cater to the heat pump market, STIEBEL ELTRON also intends to invest in its scheme further to ensure a stream of well-equipped installers, empowered with fundamental knowledge of heat pump technology, will be entering the market.

Additionally, STIEBEL ELTRON is investing in its product offerings across all areas of the business, from heat pumps to ventilation systems, from hot water taps to hand dryers.

Mark McManus, STIEBEL ELTRON UK Managing Director, said: “At the start of the year we set out an ambition to see the company go from strength to strength. These new starters are a signal of intent to seeing this come to fruition.

“With the company growing its workforce, with a raft of expert employees across our operations, we are now well placed to further support the UK heat pump market and see it flourish in the years to come.

“STIEBEL ELTRON has experienced huge success and this is down to the fantastic work our employees carry out every day. We are delighted to welcome the new members to the team and know they’ll be fundamental in helping the company achieve its aspirations in the years to come.”

Lynsey Green, Head of People for STIEBEL ELTRON UK, said: “We are proud to be able to provide real career opportunities to people within the Liverpool City region and further afield, and look forward to being able to develop our employees personally and professionally as we grow.”
