How can I cool a building with a heat pump?

STIEBEL ELTRON offers various options that allow you to cool living spaces cost effectively in summer with a heat pump. A distinction is made between two processes:

Passive cooling:
With passive cooling, the low temperature of the groundwater or ground is transferred to the heating system via a heat exchanger. The heat pump compressor is not started, i.e. the heat pump remains "passive".

Active cooling:
With active cooling, the cooling capacity of the heat pump is transferred to the heating system. The heat pump compressor is started, i.e. the heat pump becomes "active".

It is also possible to cool buildings with air source heat pumps; in this instance it always done in active mode.
