How we support you

Support and partnership

We don’t just sell products – we will work with you to achieve your aims. There is help and advice at every stage of a project from planning through to installation, commissioning and aftersales support.

At the planning stage

Stricter compliance testing and documentation means that collaboration between architects, M&E engineers, and energy assessors will need to start much earlier in the design process. We are here to help your teams through that process. Your local specification manager will be happy to be involved from the earliest stages of a project to help ensure no opportunities for cost and space savings are missed, while also making compliance straightforward.

Pre-installation

Our dedicated planning and technical teams will provide your contractors with the detail they need to plan robust and easily installed systems. Our training team offers free hands-on or virtual training to ensure participants have all the knowledge and experience they need before working on a live system. We are happy to work with your existing installation partners or recommend STIEBEL ELTRON Specialist Partners local to your areas of operation.

At the installation stage

Because we won’t ever leave your installers stuck on site with a problem, we help safeguard your deadlines. With both field based and telephone support as needed along with online tools and a wealth of information available on our partner portal 24/7, they can tackle new tasks with confidence.

Aftersales

We offer ongoing maintenance packages for heat pumps so that your teams can move on to the next job.

Key features of the updated standards

And what they mean for developers and architects

UK building regulations are evolving to reduce both embodied carbon and carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency in new developments, creating healthier built environments. Whilst standards are performance based rather than technology specific, the changes do make certain technologies much more likely to be required to achieve compliance.

  • Low-carbon heating: New homes are expected to deliver 75%-80% lower carbon emissions compared to 2013 standards. This will require low-carbon forms of heating, with fossil fuel boilers and direct acting electric heatingno longer meeting building regulations fornew buildings. Whilst the standards are‘technically neutral’, heat pumps are expected to be the prominent replacement solution in most cases.
  • High energy efficiency: Homes will be built with a more efficient building fabric to minimise heat loss, including enhanced insulation, windows, and airtightness. Building services implications for you: The updates to part F make it much more likely that you will need to install mechanical ventilation. MEV and MVHR are explicitly recognised as the most effective means of ventilating a dwelling and MVHR in particular is likely to make your path to compliance easier.
  •  Integration of renewables: Developments will be expected to consider the inclusion of onsite renewable technologies. Solar PV is now expected as the likely standard to be chosen to meet the mandated carbon reduction. Unless there are strong reasons why installation would be impractical to include them, you will need to plan for their addition.

Finding your sweet spots through the regulations

Heat pumps for heating, cooling & hot water

It almost goes without saying that our award-winning heat pumps are renowned for quiet operation and high efficiencies that appeal to property owners. For developers and architects their high temperature efficiency means smaller radiators can be used, saving space and cost compared with competitor products.

Our range comprises air source for domestic and light commercial applications (cascades up to approx 100kW and individual unts from 5-17kW) and ground source units for domestic and commercial applications (units from 4-87kW and cascades to over 1mW) along with our unique indoor domestic air source unit with integral MVHR.

Ventilation

Domestic/light commercial centralised or decentralised ranges. One point of contact for both heat pumps and MVHR units – plus the benefit to end users of one app to control both. Passive House certified units available.

System cylinders

The indoor plant all-in-one box offers the highest levels of integration on the market to ensure the smallest footprint for indoor components (and the best finish).

Partnership with SolarWatt for solar PV integration

Combining a heat pump with solar PV panels (and optional battery storage) is emerging as the most practical and cost effective route to compliance. Our partnership with Solarwatt means we can offer a fully integrated solution — proven, efficient, and easy to install. With seamless system design, compatibility, optimised performance, an clear sustainability credentials, it’s the smart choice for delivering low-carbon homes with high market appeal.

Electric room and water heaters

Athough their part may now be smaller than that of renewable sources of heat, our point of use water heaters and direct acting space heaters are still our range to support your fossil-free aims.

Very often 50% of the energy consumed for hot water production is lost through long pipe runs; it therefore likely that there will still be instances where a case can be made under the new regulations for point of use water heating.
