Heat Pump Pass 2 - STIEBEL ELTRON launches new training module to drive renewable heating adoption
Leading heat pump manufacturer, STIEBEL ELTRON UK, has expanded its online training course as it looks to accelerate the adoption of renewable heating technologies across the UK.
Unveiling Heat Pump Pass 2, the new module delivers advanced training for installers, providing them with essential skills and comprehensive technical knowledge to support the transition towards renewable heating.
The course is designed to cater for heating engineers wishing to transition from boiler installation to heat pumps, trainee heating engineers, and existing heat pump engineers looking to expand their knowledge of different technologies and STIEBEL ELTRON’s products.
With demand for sustainable heating solutions increasing, this updated training module builds on the success of Heat Pump Pass 1, adding further detail, advice, and support for installers as they navigate the heat pump market.
Both Heat Pump Pass courses offer installers an in-depth understanding of heat pump technology and key installation practices, making it easier to integrate renewable heating solutions into their work.
Held online, the first course comprises five hours of on-demand video training delivered in 26 segments, providing an essential overview of how heat pumps work, covering technical concepts and initial installation considerations.
The new add-on module, Heat Pump Pass 2, offers two additional hours of training over 11 segments, focusing on critical aspects such as conducting heat loss calculations, selecting appropriate products, and accurately sizing systems using STIEBEL ELTRON’s advanced tools and calculators.
Through these courses STIEBEL ELTRON aims to empower professionals with practical tools and knowledge to install and maintain heat pumps confidently, with the company placing an onus on training installers so they can drive the adoption of renewable heating technologies across the UK.
Earlier this year, STIEBEL ELTRON launched an in-person training course designed specifically for gas installers who are looking to transition to heat pump technology.
Hosted at the company’s state-of-the-art training centre at its Wirral headquarters, 10 installers have been successfully trained since it began in August, with more participants scheduled to attend in the coming months.
With the 280m2 training suite able to accommodate 16 installers at any given time, trainees are provided with valuable hands-on experience with a range of ground and air source heat pumps which vary in size and shape and are used in different situations such as in commercial settings, houses, or flats.
Mark McManus, Managing Director at STIEBEL ELTRON UK, said: “If the UK is to transition towards renewable heating technologies, we simply need to have more installers who are able to fit them, whether it be for consumers or businesses.
“At STIEBEL ELTRON we recognise the role we have in not only providing the technology but also in sharing the knowledge that we have which will leave the UK’s installers able to handle it confidently.
“We’ve always had excellent feedback on our training and expanding it so we can further support professionals, whether they are new to the sector or a seasoned veteran, made absolute sense. We’re looking forward to welcoming the next round of trainees and sharing our expertise.”
